Preperation:

All surfaces should be clean, dry and free from loose and flaking material. Prime bare surfaces with an appropriate Primer. Rub down previously painted surfaces with fine waterproof abrasive paper and rinse thoroughly. Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding. Special precautions should be taken during surface preperation of pre - 1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.

Application:

Stir well before use and apply by brush. Apply liberally and evenly avoid overspreading. Do not apply over polystyrene surfaces.

Coverage:

Johnstone's Matt Black will cover approximately 16²m - 18²m per litre depending on the nature and porosity of the surface being painted.

Drying Time:

Under normal conditions, touch dry in 4 - 6 hours and recoatable after 16 - 24 hours.

A tough, hardwearing non-reflective Matt Black finish. Ideal for enhancing the antique look of traditional beams, or use for decorative ironwork, darkrooms, stage scenery and blackboards. Suitable for use on most surfaces including wood, metal and decorative iron.
