Preperation:
All surfaces to be painted should be clean, dry and free from loose or flaking material. Existing rust or millscale should be removed from iron and steel. Loose or defective paint should also be removed, stripping to the bare surface if necessary. Avoid the inhalation of dust. Wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding. Special precautions shou;d be taken during preperation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.

Application:

Stir thoroughly before use. Apply by brush or roller. To ensure the best results the brush should be fully loaded. Do not thin.

Coverage:

Johnstone's Traditional Red Oxide Primer will cover approximately 11²m per litre depending on the nature and porosity of the surface.

Drying Time:

Under normal conditions Johnstone's Traditional Red Oxide Primer is touch dry in 2 - 4 hours and re-coatable after 14 - 16 hours.
